Chinese Qing Dynasty Period Kangxi douqing sgraffito horses shoe water pot. The porcelain potted with a bulbous body, half moon, similar horses shoe, of a deep vessel, with a narrow opening lip, raised on a flat round base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in Douqing glaze covered, all reserved in pale-turquoise- pale green celadon underglaze ground, the green glaze creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human pale white skin. The immaculate porcelain body covered with a characteristic silky glaze, amazing crackling effect throughout the underglaze which produces fantastic a smooth textured surface. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. The water pot fitted unto a Japanese wooden lidded box.

The Under-base bears a reign mark, a horizontal six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of Kangxi Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
