This vibrant image presents an intriguing perspective of a smiling woman. She tilts her head up and backward, as if laughing over her shoulder. An elegant earring dangles from her ear. Bright punches of blue and yellow create a sunny and warm feeling. This mixed media study would be a fabulous addition to any collection.
Mario Borgoni (Italian, 1869-1936) was born in Pesaro and received his formal training in Naples. Most of Borgoni's works were graphic illustrations for travel posters and luggage labels. In his designs, Mario Borgoni typically included strong lettering and a descriptive subject, giving viewers the feeling that they are looking at the scene through a window.
