Description
Geometrics by Jules Andre Smith (1880 - 1959) is an original oil on board that was painted in the Summer or 1958. On verso in black ink reads "BY ANDRE SMITH SUMMER 1958 IN STONEY CREEK, CONN” and on other side of verso it reads Donald Barker. Donald Barker may be the Hall of Fame Referee. Jules received a Gold Medal in 1915 for his art and was also only one of eight artists commission by the army during WW I to document activities during the war. Known for oil, sculpting, printmaking, watercolors, cement, and inks, Jules was a well-versed artist and explored finding new horizons using various mediums. This vibrant painting comes in gold carved wood frame. Measurements: 24 inches by 36 inches.
Condition
Condition: Good. No signs of repairs under UV light or by physical eye. Some toning & craquelure on front. Some darkened areas on verso. In nice wood frame.
