Description
A calligraphy by Li Lianfang given to Xian Zhou. It has a signature and seal, and is on paper without a backing. Dimensions are 39 1/2 inches tall X 16 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Some mild staining, but it is in overall good condition.
Provenance: From the estate of Ai Xian Zhou (1890-1955). Mr. Ai was a pioneer of higher education in China during the early 20th century, as well as a renowned psychologist. He was a professor of psychology and a dean of the College of Education at China Central University. He was also appointed to various leadership positions in the Department of Education in the Nationalist government of the 1930s and 1940s.
