Description
A pair of Egyptian beaded necklaces, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, the larger comprised of light blue faience tubular and disk beads, L: 50 ½ in (128 cm). The second strand comprised of light blue tubular beads interspersed with Roman faceted glass beads. L: 29 in (58.3 cm). Ex estate of Maria (Lila) Decatur Mayo Deyo Garnett, niece of Ruth Deyo; Ex collection of Ruth Deyo, acquired early-mid 1900’s. Mrs. Deyo was a world-renowned musician and personality, well-known for her appreciation of Egyptian culture.
