Dimensions: 14-3/4" H x 13-3/4" Dia.
Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, blue and white porcelain jar. The shape having thick potted body, sturdily potted in a bulbous body, gently tapered on shoulder toward prominent straight neck with opening, raised on small round flat base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. The main body adorned with folk bring tree branch beside a sage officer with their troops in a grass field among grass, flowers blooms, rock hill, below scrolling ruyi clouds, enclosed with double fine blue fine rings lines. The shoulder decorated with trashing wavy Lishui water and repeating geometric pattern on the mouth rim, enclosed with double fine blue fine rings lines. The foot base rim decorated with upturning lappets, enclosed with double fine blue fine rings lines. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. The mouth and foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the base left unglazed with grayish creme-brown ground and dark spots of firing marks. The porcelain displays a subtle sheen as the light ricochets across the finely glazed exterior. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.
