REPUBLIC PERIOD, SIGNED LIU XIREN (1906-1967)
of rectangular form, painted to depict the immortal, Tieguai Li seated on his staff besides a large gourd and a basket with peaches and books, dated winter of the wuchen year (corresponding to year 1928), signed Liu Xiren with one seal, Xiren, framed.
Height 14 1/2 x 9 3/4 in., 37 x 25 cm.
Provenance: Purchased in Nanking, China during year 1947-1948, thence by descent
