Description
An 18th century Veuve Perrin French Faience inkstand, Marseille, France (manufactured wares between 1748-1803). The inkstand, raised on five lion paw feet has a letter holder, two inkwells, a drawer and a lidded center compartment. The colorful underglaze decoration depicts male and female figures within a landscape village setting. The lids are decorated with a dimensional snake and a floral motif. Signed on the underside with the VP maker's mark. Measures 8-1/8" high, 9.5" wide, 6" deep.
