Very Rare circa 1881 ("James A. Garfield") "Executive Mansion - Washington." Card with His Stamped Signature
(JAMES A. GARFIELD) (1831-1881). 20th President of the United States whos Presidency lasted just 200 days, March 4, 1881, until his death on September 19, 1881, as a result of being shot by assassin Charles J. Guiteau on July 2, 1881, the second of four United States Presidents who were assassinated.
c. 1881, Very Rare "Executive Mansion, - Washington." Card with Stamped Signature, ("James A. Garfield") as President, 4" x 2.5", Choice Crisp Near Mint. Prior heavy old dark glue mounting remnants on the reverse with no "show-through" to the face side, which appears Crisp Mint. A similar authentic hand-signed Garfield Card is exceedingly rare with a likely collector value typically exceeding $10,000 or so. This Stamped Signature Executive Mansion Washington Card is known and documented to have been used for his signature, and itself is recognized as being extremely rare and of good collector value. Housed in a clear plexiglass display case.
