Spectacular engraved gold plated 8x12.5 cm (3x5") ceremonial plaque for a dinner given in honor of Charles C. Moore by the Directors and Sub Directors of the Panama Pacific International Exposition, January 5, 1916 in San Francisco. It lists the 28 Board of Director members that is a virtual who's who of San Francisco social and civic leaders including names like Brandenstein, (MJB Coffee), Britton, (printing), Cameron, Crocker (Banking), DeYoung (Chronicle), Esberg, Hale (Dept Store), Hellman (Finance), Sloss, Tobin, Mayor James Rolph Jr and Charles Stanton to whom this plague was given. The 5 Sub-Directors were Fleishacker, Mcintosh, Levinson, Meyerfeld Jr. and Sesnon, all important civic leaders, as well.
Made by Shreve & Co. San Francisco, and enclosed in a velvet lined morocco and gilt ruled box with the name Charls S. Stanton gold stamped on cover. The plaque is fine and beautifully engraved with Exposition seals and additional decorations, and weighs 131 grams.
