Edward Hopper (American, 1882-1967)Attributed: Double Sided Study/Sketch. Graphite on unlined notebook paper, signed lower right, unframed. On one side the artist has sketched male figures in confident graphite strokes. On the opposite side a figure was initiated but left incomplete. There are also two loose studies for compositions with human and animal figures.

Hopper was a prominent American realist painter and printmaker. While he was most popularly known for his oil paintings, he was equally proficient as a watercolorist and printmaker in etching.

Good aged condition: paper has graphite smudges and pigments throughout the sheet (consistent with handling and age), slight dents, discoloration along the edges, some foxing, slightly bent corners. Three holes along the top edge are intentional for this type of binder paper.
