Provenance:Fascinating decorative stitching throughout holding 100's of silk dressmaker's scraps. damasks, brocades, silks together (about 6 have shattered) / a couple of red prize ribbons are incorporated/ trimmed with off-white 4-inch fringe / multi-colored ties / and pre-quilted pink backing with marks./ A stunning 1800's stitcher's creative expression! its creator added her initials DBG towards the quilt's center and her heirs hand-stitched a piece of paper which mentions that it was made 3 generations prior, but did' not give the date she added the pencilled info!
