Description
AN ASSEMBLED GARNITURE OF THREE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE MOLDED CELADON GROUND PORCELAIN VASES, SECOND-HALF 19TH CENTURY, comprising a pair of ginger jars and one with decorated side centering youths working in a fenced garden under the gaze of a sage elder holding a fan, height: 11.25", diameter: 8.25"; one with decorated side centering a maiden warrior and her young charges in an outdoor setting, height: 11.25", diameter: 8.50"; together with a baluster form vase with one side centering a long robed elder directing youths at various labors amidst a rocky fenced garden, beneath a flaring neck enclosing a scrolling feng symbol and a fluttering bat, flanked by opposing qilong handles, height: 16.75", diameter: 8.50".
Condition
Each has minor surface marks and small scratches from use throughout, old hairlines and kiln firing frits. One ginger jar lacking lid, the other has a wooden replacement.
