ROBERT HARPER (British w. 1869-1882) A VICTORIAN PERIOD STERLING SILVER PRESENTATION FOOTED BOWL, LONDON, ENGLAND, 1880-1881, the shallow bowl with beaded scalloped rim, the sides with repoussé floral and trellis pattern decoration, raised on three scrolled feet with grotesque masks, gilt interior, inscribed "Harry Burnaby, from, H Aldenburg Bentinck, 1881," stamped on the bottom (le2 3/4"opard7"'s head),5" (lion passant), (duty mark), "RH," "E," "165,58," total approximate silver weight: 3.915 troy ounces. Height: 1 7/8" Width: 4 5/8" Provenance: The personal collection of Colonel Frederick Gustavus Burnaby, member of the Royal Horse Guards, a cavalry regiment of the British Army.
Condition
In overall good condition, with minor surface rubbing and scratching (particularly to the gilt interior) commensurate with age and use.
