Pre-Columbian, Western Mexico, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. An ensemble of seventeen Western Mexican terracotta jewelry items, including nine ear spools, two pectoral discs, and six rings. The ear spools come in a range of sizes, and have one of three forms: cylindrical with slightly flared rims; circular with dramatically-flared rims; or pedestal-shaped with one flat end and with either an open end or with a solid face with incised designs. The colors of the ear spools range from pale beige to russet to black. Two pectoral discs have five wide, flared spokes and a central perforation hole each, and one has a black ring surrounding the perforation hole on one side. There are also six circular rings, for wearing on either hands or noses, each with a space between the curved terminals and some with incised linear designs.
