Very rare edition. The novel of the Greek rhetorician, erroneously called Statius, is translated into Latin by Ludovico Annibale Della Croce. The work tells the story of love between Clitofonte and Leucippe and their vicissitudes set in an exotic land like Fenicia. The linearity of the story translates both as regards the daring structure of the content as falling in love, the continuous shipwrecks, the forced separations of the two lovers following abductions, the unexpected getaways and discoveries, and the absence of excessive digressions. The work is offered with a valid export license
