Description
1914 Scott Terra Nova Arctic Expedition ANTARCTICA Voyages Illustrated 2v
Robert Falcon Scott was a famed British explorer who is most famous for his early 20th-century expeditions to Antarctica. The second expedition, also known as the Terra Nova Expedition, proved to be a highly important journey even though Scott died before the end. On this excursion, Scott and his crew discovered fossils of plants on Antarctica, seemingly proving that parts of Antarctica were joined to other continents.
In 1914, a report of the Terra Nova Expedition was published in London, taking much from Scott’s own journals and notes. This work was printed with a plethora of illustrations including colored engravings, photographs, and other in-text figures.
