Description
[WLADYSLAW IV VASA]: (1595-1648) King of Poland 1632-48. A renowned Patron of the Arts. Wladyslaw gained fame when he defeated the Ottoman Empire and was elected Tsar of Russia by the Seven Boyars in 1610, although he did not accept the Russian throne. A contemporary autograph letter, in an unknown hand, six pages, 4to, dated in 1633, in Latin. The untranslated letter refers to Poland, to the King of Poland, and mostly to the war against Michel Romanoff `..contra Moschos anno Domini 1633..´and to multiple Kingdom affairs, mentioning the situation and relationship with foreign Kingdoms such as France, Spain, Italy, England, etc… Overall age wear, with very small ink holes, and edges slightly trimmed.
