SAND GEORGE: (1804-1876) French Novelist who used the pseudonym of George Sand, her real name being Amantine Dupin. Also known for her romantic affairs with artists, including Frédéric Chopin and Alfred de Musset. A good A.L.S., `George Sand´, one page, 8vo, n.p., 28th August 1848, to Gabriel Falampin, her representative, in French. George Sand refers to one of her romans and expects that the journal Le Siècle would be interested in it, and states in part `If you don´t reach a deal, please contact Mr. Jourdan who is founding a new journal and who has wrote to me asking for a novel..´, further and before concluding saying `Push, if it is in your hand, the settlement of this small affair which would be of a great help to me in these moments..´ VG £150-200
