Description
This lithographic was made from an original creative of the Pablo Picasso masterpiece,"Portrait of Francoise (Gilot)"Later converted to a lithograph.Picasso began creating lithographs in earnest in 1945. Although their subjects varied, their star was Françoise Gilot, whom he had met two years before. In these early lithographs of his new muse, he famously applied a very spare line, but one nonetheless laden with greatly evocative emotion. There are eight portraits of Françoise, which Picasso created on the same day,and are among his finest lithographs. Lithograph is on 13 x 16 inch paper and image size is 11 x 14. This is one of a Limited Edition printing of 300“After” Means that it is a copy of the artist’s work. For Example Old Masters created many oil painting throughout their careers. Some of these were reproduced after as lithographs on paper. These “After” works were approved by the Old Master, but a skilled artisan created the original lithographic plate rather than Old Master
