This assemblage of Pablo Picasso paintings originated from the collection of Picasso’s granddaughter, Marina Picasso, before going through a change of hands resulting in its arrival in this collection. These pieces showcase Pablo Picasso’s signature style and techniques. Historically, Picasso was surrounded by a variety of artists and musicians. The renowned artist painted on many different mediums, including newspapers and sheet music. He often did a myriad of trial sketches and paintings before working on a final product.

Untitled #5 strays away from organic forms entirely, instead favoring geometric shapes. This piece also exhibits neutral tones instead of Picasso’s more prominent vibrant colors. The figure itself is hard to discern as human. The form has a single eye that has two pupils, possibly signifying two eyes, and is missing a mouth. The facial structure and expression are completely determined by the almost harshly sharp black lines.
