Copper-engraved map. 14.6x18.3 m (5¾x7¼"); on sheet with text, overall 32.2x19.7 cm (12¼x7¾").

Samuel Purchas' publication of the map from the 1607 Mercator-Hondius Atlas Minor (which was a reduction of the Hondius' map of the same name published in Atlas sive Cosmographicae, first issued in 1606), issued in Volume III of the 1625 edition of Purchas His Pilgrims. The map is on a sheet with text, with page number 869, and above the map is the legend "Hondius his Map of Florida." Burden notes "It is... a faithful rendition of its larger cousin and appears to lose none of the Indian villages identified..."
