Description
A beautifully colored, well preserved exemplar of the famous Virginia/Florida map from the Mercator/ Hondius Atlas, first published in 1606. Based on deBry's interpretation of John White's Virginia and le Moyne's Florida, the Mercator Hondius map influenced mapmakers for the rest of the 17th century. This superb exemplar is from one of the French editions of the Atlas (1628, 1633, or 1635).
