Pre Civil War Vintage Stars Antique Quilt W/ Small

Item Details

Description

This elegant cotton 1850's (or earlier) stars quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with a nice sawtooth border.

It measures a generous 80" X 84" and is in excellent condition, with the occasional small, faint age spot (mostly on the back) and no wear.
There is quilting around the piecework and in diamond and cable designs in the background, all at an even 8 stitches to the inch.
The back and hand stitched binding are white, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
