Description
A pair of Laconian Greek lead votives, c. 6th - 5th Century BC, one in the form of the upper part of a goddess facing, wearing chiton and richly attired, 5 x 3.5 cm, the second a male head with good detail, 3.7 x 2 cm. Both with attractive oxide patination. Small flat votive figurines of cast lead such as these examples have been found in large quantities at the various ancient sanctuaries of Laconia.
