Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan/Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. A thin-walled and wheel-thrown pottery vessel standing on a small rounded foot, and with a very slightly flared rim. The interior register is painted with a chocolate-hued pigment; the exterior displays a repeating angled linear pattern enclosed by two solid brown bands, and is flanked by two similar brown bands both above and below. A simple yet attractive example of Indus Valley pottery! Size: 4.05" W x 2.375" H (10.3 cm x 6 cm).
