Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan / Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. A sizable wheel-thrown pottery vessel with a very slight convex base, flat walls, a slightly flared shoulder rim with concave shoulders, and an upturned rim. The side walls have linear, stepped, and diamond-shaped designs, painted in red and black on the buff surface, and the shoulders have stepped patterns in similar colors. Size: 3.25" H (8.3 cm).
Provenance: private Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA collection
