Hermann Emil Pohle, often called Hermann Pohle the Younger, (born December 12, 1863 in Dusseldorf, died November 17, 1914) was a German painter. The son of the landscape painter Hermann Pohle was a pupil at the Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie under Peter Janssen from 1889-1895. He was an "important historical painter [...] who has also come forward as a genre, landscape and portrait painter", his "... images seem manicured; his historical paintings are based on the Venetian art of the 16th and 17th centuries ". 4
