All four bear identical red-color marks with the Imperial Eagle and in an oval form underneath: FABRIKI M.S. KUZNETSOV V DULEVOThis mark was used during the period 1889-1917 by the factory in Dulevo, near Moscow, before the nationalization of the production after the Boshevik revolution.
Arabic script underneath - made for export to the Persian Market.
Porcelain production exploded in Imperial Russia during the latter half of the 19th century, which led to it being well recognized on the international scene as well, including the Middle Eastern and Asian markets as wellThe Kuznetsov family is one of the most regarded porcelain makers of the country. The company was started by merchant Terezy Kuznetsov with kilns in Dulevo in 1832 and developed rapidly in the years following. The company name was changed to "M.S. Kuznetsov" by Matvey Kuznetsov in 1872.
Measurements: Approx. Each bowl is about 6.5" top diameter and 3.25" deep. The set weighs in at just under 4 lbs.
