Description
Governor of New York, 1919-1920 and 1923-1928, his name was first put into nomination for President of the U.S. by Franklin Roosevelt who dubbed him the "happy warrior". He lost the nomination on the 103rd ballot . In 1928 he had no serious opposition and thus became the first Roman Catholic to be a Presidential nominee. He lost to Herbert Hoover. This autograph is on a 1930 play advertisent for That's Gratitufe.
