Description
The Chicago Stock Exchange building was design by architects Adler & Sullivan and completed in 1894. Both these creative men were highly regarded at the time and their reputations have grown over the years. The cast iron hardware in the building was designed by Louis Sullivan and made my Yale & Town of Stamford, CT. These back plates are part of the original suite of builders’ hardware that included a dozen or more different items, all in the same design. This pair of door plates measures 8 x 2.75” and have a dark finish that made them rustproof. These plates came from the Warshawsky Collection.
