This lot consists of a hand-drawn mixed media (ink and watercolor) on unstretched canvas, hand signed "Samo" at lower right, with copyright symbol beside. Image depicts a human head in grotesque detail, surrounded by enigmatic shapes and symbols. Done in the graffiti style of Neo-Expressionist painter, Jean-Michel Basquiat (American, 1960-1988), who tagged under the name "Samo". A faded stamp en verso reads, "Authentication Committee of the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat", with a three-pronged crown above. Bears a strong resemblance to Basquiat's 1981 work known as "Skull". This unframed work measures approximately 11" x 9".
