Scarce first edition of an early travel book on Scotland. Complete with original foldout map of Scotland. “The Scotch Itinerary, Containing the Roads Through Scotland, on a New Plan. With Copious observations for the Instruction and Entertainment of travellers, and a Complete Index,” by James Duncan. Published 1805 by James and Andrew Duncan (first edition). Front cover has been replaced with illustration board. Spine covered with binder's tape. Title page has little bit of soiling and toning at bottom; rest of interior very good plus. 9.5 x 13.5 map complete and in excellent condition with a 1.5-inch tear where bound in and a little chipping and toning at bottom left corner. One gutter crack. 3.5 x 8.5. 123 pp.
