Description
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A fantastic mold-made, green glass goblet. Deep ribs with curved sides radiate around the body, with a smooth section below the out-turned rim. The body tapers to the round, applied foot. This delicate vessel was made to drink from, and has a timeless aesthetic that allows us to imagine an ancient Roman using it for wine or water. Bands of iridescence on the interior remind us of its great age. Size: 3.25" W x 4.35" H (8.3 cm x 11 cm)

Condition
Repaired from several pieces on one side of the rim. These repairs are well done and difficult to see. Lightly encrusted surface, mostly around the interior of the rim and upper body and also around the foot. No pontil mark, indicating that the piece was mold-made rather than free blown. Iridescence on the interior.
