Description
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A elegant goblet that sits on a stemmed foot and rises to walls that gently swell outwards and resolve in a flared, folded lip. The deep interior cavity has a rounded kick. The glass presents with large areas of translucence and beautiful champagne hues that are accented by a cane of white glass applied to the rim of the foot. This large vessel undoubtably graced a Roman table during the cena meal. Size: 3.75" W x 4.5" H (9.5 cm x 11.4 cm)

Condition
Pontil mark on underside of base. A pontil scar or mark indicates that a vessel was free-blown, while the absence of such a mark suggests that the work was either mold-blown or that the mark was intentionally smoothed away or wore away over time. Surface wear, nicks, and weathering commensurate with age. Otherwise, intact, excellent!
