Japanese Matchlock Converted to Percussion Pistol.
Unserialized, approximately .58 caliber, 11-inch barrel with flared cannon muzzle and fixed front and rear sights. Engraved fly, butterfly and dragonfly to the top of barrel. Smooth hardwood stock with brass furniture and Japanese writing to left side at wrist. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 1843 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum.

Condition: Very good. Overall showing normal age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs and dings to stock. Action good. Dark bore.
