Description
Circa 1800, likely Marion County Virginia. The clock having a broken arch pediment centered by a finial above a single glazed door opening to a handsomely painted face continuing down to lower case with molded collar above a single door which has a glazed circular window and center and opens to weights and pendulum within. Upon lowercase which rest atop handsome bracket feet. Walnut throughout. H102 1/2" W19" D11 1/2" Note: The clock has a note from Mr. Ferrell at the interior of the bonnet reading "Clock in the Dr Rush Young family at Fairwood, Marion Co Va. outside Chilhowee, brought to Newberry SC in the 1920s. Purchased from Florence Wicker 1-18-89, whose mother was a Young."
