Notes: King Charles I, Charles I was monarch of the three kingdoms of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 27 March 1625 until his execution in 1649. In this painting, Charles is dressed as an aristocratic gentleman in a teardrop royal scar, gold breeches, with one hand resting on a walking stick; the other points depicting an order which shows his sovereignty and power.
