including Charles Willson Peale, "Peale Museum" (1741-1827), "Man in a Top Hat", over black card, and "Lady with Lace and Curls", ca. 1790, over black silk, each embossed "Museum", the second with card of authenticity attached to frame backing, sights 4-1/4" x 2-3/4" and 3-3/4" x 3", respectively; Henry Williams (American, 1787-1830), "Pendant Pair of a Man and Woman", each over black silk, each card embossed "Williams", frame backing on gentleman with "Elizabeth L. Maurier Collection" label, each sight 4-3/8" x 3-1/4"; "Hannah Cope (1835-1917) of Montgomery, Pennsylvania", over blue card with a gilt-brass surround stamped "Holmes, Booth and Haydens/Patented Oct. 1855", "E. Grosvenor Paine" label on frame backing; and "Gentleman", over black card, unsigned, sight 4-5/8" x 3-1/2".
Each glazed and framed.

Notes: The Peale Museum silhouettes were authenticated by Ernest Lee Parker (1885-1936), former Curator of Paintings, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the portrait of the woman is accompanied by two handwritten notes by Parker on a note card and on his business card.
