Description
A very cute pair of miniature figurines from Ecuador. The first is Jamacoaque, c. 400 BC - AD 500, in tan buff, depicted seated wearing domed headdress and with hands to the face, H: 3 cm, the other is Manteno, c. AD 850 - 1550, black slipped and depicted standing with right hand to face; horizontal suspension hole through neck, H: 2.7 cm. Both charming little miniatures perhaps worn as beads or pendants. Ex collection of a Manhattan, New York professor, acquired in the 1970's.
