Pre-Columbian Narino culture (Colombia, ca. 850-1250 CE). Terracotta vase with high relief serpentine rope-like trim around two weeping faces with slit eyes, raised noses and slit mouths. Snakes often symbolized rebirth or renewal in pre-Columbian cultures. Measures 5.75 x 8.25 inches.
Condition
Good condition overall, shows a few small chips around the rim and two stress cracks near one area.
