Description
Glazed Redware Pitcher, probably PA origin, second or third quarter 19th century. ovoid pitcher with footed base, tooled rim, and ribbed handle, the surface and handle profusely-decorated with sponged manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Provenance: Collection of Harry Meyer, McDonald, PA. A 1 1/2" flake to rim. Additional wear to rim and spout. Crack across underside, continuing 4 1/2" up side of pitcher. A 5/8" surface flake to front. Other light wear to surface. Base chips. Chips and wear to handle. Exfoliation to underside. Flakes to interior. H 8 3/4".
