Description
1908 Pattern British cavalry trooper's sword "Mark 1," WWI era militaria dated December 1915, by the famous English sword-makers Wilkinson & Co., having a large, sheet-steel bowl guard, spear point blade with deep fullers, broad arrow-marked cast iron ferrule further stamped with a crown, "Wilkinson / 12-15," and various regimental marks, and rounded rectangular semi-pistol-configured crosshatch-cut grip; this was the last service sword issued to the cavalry of the British Army, and is still carried ceremonially by those regiments today. Blade: 35.25" L; overall: 42.5" L. Lacking scabbard, wear to grip, some rust to guard, loss of silvering to blade.
