Description
German Dome Top Mantle Clock, likely Lenzkirch: Circa 1900, Black Forest Region, Germany, 8-Day movement with chime. Four bun feet support a rectangular body with chamfered corners carved with reeded columns. Recessed brass face framing a dial with Roman and Arabic numbers as well as a 'chime' and 'silent' dial. Dimensions: 13 1/2" tall x 6 1/2" wide x 7"deep. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Running but not checked for accuracy, please note the crack in the upper center of the dome, 1" x 5". Provenance: From the clock collection of a world traveled British gentleman. This piece includes a copy of the purchase receipt from Lawrence Fine Art of Crewkerne, Somerset, United Kingdom, November 15, 1979.
