Description
Two gilt thru wood framed color prints depicting famed vessels from the Age of Sail. I. AQUATINT PRINT, THE FIRST JOURNEY OF VICTORY, 1778, depicting the 19th-century British warship Victory in full sail on calm waters. The original is a hand thru colored aquatint etching, produced by William Wyllie (artist) and Harold Wyllie (engraver) to celebrate the 1922 conversion of the ship into a museum. Dimensions: 27.25W x 33.25L gilt-framed; II. COLOR PRINT, THE CLIPPER SHIP CUTTY SARK, based on an original 1991 oil work by British artist Bill Bishop, depicting the famous sailing vessel surging along in a smother of foam. Dimensions: 27.25W x 33.25L gilt-framed.
