A ROCOCO REVIVAL GILTWOOD AND GESSO HAND PAINTED BOMBÉ DISPLAY CABINET, EARLY/MID 20TH CENTURY, the shaped plateau top over a cavetto frieze, above a bombé glazed cupboard door, opening to a mirrored back and glass shelf, flanked by serpentine glazed side panels, raised on restrained cabriole legs, mounted with gilt metal foliate ormolu, joined by a dramatic cabochon skirt with lattice motif, centering a reserve painted with a bucolic scene of an amorous couple, flanked by side panels painted in Barbizon style landscape. There are some mild losses and chips, mostly near foot and at figural painting some losses, cracks and wear to the paint, gilt and gesso, one landscape at skirt side is unfinished, lacking interior shelving, some mild surface wear and dust throughout, but overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
