Description
A PAIR OF IMARI ENAMELED PORCELAIN RIBBED BAT MOTIF VASES, ATTRIBUTED TO THE TAISHO (1912-1926) PERIOD, the scalloped edge rim, over a pinched neck, above a baluster form body with ribbed or lobed relief, painted with a scene of a bat in decent, flanked by lotus blossoms, within scenes of flowering vase issuing spruce and cherry blossom trees. Height: 11 5/8" Diameter: 6 1/4"
Condition
Gilt now mostly rubbed off, some minor wear to the enamel, some soil and surface residue, but overall in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
