Description
A very nice Persian bronze 'Hand' fibula, c 3rd - 2nd Century BC, the body triangular in shape and adorned with ridges, the original pin is present with pin catch in the form of a human hand. L: 1 3/8 in (3.5 cm). Nicely patinated and a good example! Cf. Hattatt, Iron Age and Roman Brooches. (1985), no. 718 for the type; Ex Pennsylvania private collection.
