Description
A wonderful Etruscan bronze figure of a male youth, 3rd - 2nd Century BC, depicted nude in contrapposto position and wearing a diadem, left hand clutching perhaps what was a sceptre and right hand extended. His facial features are quite handsome with rows of curls framing his face and his musculature well-defined. H: 4 1/4 in (10.8 cm). Very well-preserved with a deep olive-green patina and mounted on a an antique stone base. Ex Heinrich Medicus collection, Troy, NY; Ex Sotheby's November 1990, Lot 216.
