Description
A Chinese scroll painting. Wu, Guxiang (Qing dynasty, 1848-1903). Signed as Qiu Nong. Dated 1894 (Guangxu, Jia Wu). In the manner of Wen, Boren/ Daizhao (Ming dynasty, 1502-1575). Depicting green mountain scene, having a scholarplaying Quqin in the forest near river with attendant, with mountains and waterfall in the background. Inscriptions with signature and seal u.l. Scroll: 71" x 18 1/2" Painting: 59" x 16". Provenance: From the collection of Richard Smith.
